Excursion: An Exhibition of Transience
Group Show, Arthouse Gallery Annex,
Atlanta, GA
June 5, 2008

The first exhibition of Stand Alone Gallery, Excursion was the trial and success of the transient gallery
form. Erected adjacent to the former Arthouse Co-Op, SAG featured the work of various painters,
printmakers, photographers and assembly artists.  Each artist was encouraged to explore the theme
of transience, especially the knowledge gained through travel and experience. No matter the distance
or longevity of the journey individuals pursuing moments, which can be pious, leisurely, scientific or
occasionally a tangential flight of fancy. Real or imagined, each experience offers a chance to escape
and exercise a freedom otherwise unknown.

A very special thanks to those, who from the beginning of this journey have believed in the necessity
of a transient gallery space. Thank you to Steven Peterman, Shane Zucker of Arthouse Co-Op
(Now in NYC as Brooklyn Artists Library), Mark Herschede, Crystal Kanney, Jason Kofke, Patrick Coll,
Jay Fox, Sarabeth Noggle, Chris Chambers, Yana Dimitrova, Charlotte Seigel, Jenna DiGiore,
Ryan Brennan, Tom Fischer, Robert Brown, Rich Gere, Dana Thacker, Joe Orpello, Seth Brown
and Devon Sayers.
